Anxiety & OCD
Therapy for the racing thoughts, the worry that won't quit, and the compulsions that have started running your life.
What it is
Anxiety presents differently from person to person. For some it shows up as persistent worry or rumination. For others it appears as panic attacks, social anxiety, or physical symptoms like a racing heart and difficulty breathing. For people with OCD, anxiety drives intrusive thoughts and the compulsions or mental rituals that can develop in response to them.
Anxiety is one of the most common reasons people come to therapy, and it responds well to treatment. The approach varies based on what's happening for you — generalized worry, panic, OCD, social anxiety, and health anxiety each respond to somewhat different techniques.
Our counselors use evidence-based approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure and response prevention (ERP) for OCD, mindfulness-based strategies, and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). The specific blend is tailored to your situation. Sessions typically focus on understanding your patterns, building practical skills for the moments that are hardest, and gradually addressing situations or thoughts that have become difficult.
