LGBTQ+ affirming care
Identity exploration, coming out, transition support, and relationship work, by counselors who get it.
What it is
LGBTQ+ affirming care means working with you in a way that respects your identity as a starting point rather than something to address or change. It also means having the training and experience to understand the specific concerns that often come up for LGBTQ+ clients.
In practice, this means using your name and pronouns, not requiring you to educate clinicians about basic terminology, treating your relationships as legitimate regardless of their structure.
